Purim in 2007 started on Sunday, the 4th of March (4/3/2007) and continued for 2 days until Monday, the 5th of March.

How are Purim dates determined?

Purim is celebrated annually according to the Hebrew calendar on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar (and on Adar II in Hebrew leap years that take place every 2 to 3 years).

In cities that were protected by a surrounding wall at the time of the Biblical Joshua, Purim is instead celebrated on the 15th of the month of Adar on what is known as Shushan Purim. Today, only Jerusalem and a few other cities celebrate Purim on the 15th of Adar.

When did Purim celebrations begin in 2007?

Note that in the Jewish calander, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Jews celebrated Purim on the sunset of Saturday, the 3rd of March.
